Unique Desert Ambience

How many unincorporated communities do you know exist? As for most people which live in Ohio (as well as populated areas in general), the answer to the previous question is most likely no. However, if ever passing through San Bernardino county on the way into Nevada, stay a night in Nipton, California.

Founded in 1905, Nipton was a social hub for both the cattle ranchers of the local area as well as miners looking to find gold nearby. In modern times, the small town has seemingly become a thing of a tourist attraction, with an entrepreneur purchasing Nipton in 2018 with plans of converting the property to the first attraction in "cannabis tourism".

@highdesertretreat is be back in Nipton this Saturday night for another gong sound bath ✨🙌✨ If you want to join, simply tap the link in their bio 👉 @highdesertretreat We look forward to seeing you guys this weekend ❤️ 📸: @ewphoto If you are wondering what a gong sound bath is... The gong is one of the most powerful therapeutic instruments. It has been used throughout history for healing and meditation, dating as far back as 16,000 B.C. in some accounts. The vibration created by a gong is known as a gong bath. It creates an ocean of sound that is profoundly relaxing. Water has often been used as an example when describing the rippling effect caused by the gong’s vibrations, partially because our bodies are approximately 70 percent water. The ripples created by the gong’s sound gently reverberates over, around and through the entire body to calm, relax and soothe. Typically, the listener’s heart rate slows, blood pressure drops and breath is restored to its natural rhythm. The gong induces a holistic resonance in the body and a spontaneous meditative state in the mind, resulting in a sense of expanded awareness and wholeness. It’s a deeply powerful experience that is truly hard to put into words.

However, Nipton has more to offer than just cannabis and cannabis accessories. Located in the Mojave Desert's Ivanpah Valley, Nipton boasts beautiful sunsets, picturesque mountains and due to the lack of light pollution, on clear nights views of the Milky Way are abundantly clear. These aspects have earned the small populated town the nickname Magical Nipton. In fact, Nipton is near the Joshua Tree Forest, Lake Mojave as well as many ghost towns scattered about the desert.
