Do You Want to be More Productive?
How can we be more productive? As a college student and a future professional in some profession, I think it would be well worth it to discover exactly how we can be, in some real sense, better versions of ourselves. Some people make to-do lists, some work out and exercise, and others meditate. And of course, some people drink coffee. Another appeal of coffee isn't just the life fuel that caffeine provides as it is the coffeehouse environment. However, what's the solution when the confines of a workplace may be a gray cubicle or a place that couldn't be further from a bustling cafe. Enter Coffitivity.
Coffitivity is a website that was founded by a team of freelancers, creatives and entrepreneurs and attempts to mimic the sounds of your favorite Starbucks or some other place you can order a hot drink and click away on your laptop. The goal of the company is to enhance creativity and workplace productivity.
If you haven't clicked on the link above, I suggest you do and choose one of the three options available to use without the full version (I'd suggest the University Undertones because it's a little more fitting than the other two). Coffitivity's bragging point comes from a peer-reviewed study done by the University of Chicago that points out "A moderate level of ambient noise is conducive to creative cognition." According to the Coffitivity website, this is why we get those lightbulb moments at the strangest of times— like when we're showering or driving or brushing our teeth. This study essentially means that a tiny bit of distraction goes a long way, which explains the coffeehouse phenomenon mentioned earlier.
At the end of the day, the only person or thing going to get the work you have to do for the day is you, and no amount of procrastination, distraction, or adulterant can solve that. That being said, I would recommend Coffitivity to anyone to at least try, because it's surprising how it can be on throughout the entirety of your work without even realizing it.
