Are You a Badfish Too?
On Friday morning this past week, I was packing my things and preparing to depart for what will most likely be my last festival of the season. Fall Badfish is a yearly event at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park in which the headliner for both nights is Badfish, a Sublime tribute band. Among the other bands included Tropidelic, hailing from Kent, Ohio, the Quasi Kings, and Grav. Although this was my third Badfish festival and fifth and sixth time seeing them live, it was all I needed out of a concert. Beyond being sucked up into the occasional mosh pit or having a crowd surfers crash land on top of me, it was something that could only be described as an experience.
That video of the pit may seem tame but I promise it is every bit as wild as you'd expect from a venue like the Quarry. It's truly a relaxing time and seems to suck every bit of negativity and issue out of my life and leaves me feeling recharged. Badfish will be an event I plan to return to as much as humanly possible and I highly suggest that if the music of Sublime leaves you feeling the same way, to join.
