Social Media Marketing Number TWO

Moving onward in our blogging of Jason McDonald's "Social Media Marketing Workbook 2018" we arrive at the LinkedIn chapter. To someone entirely new to LinkedIn's platform, it was extremely informational and I will certainly use this whenever I do make a LinkedIn account. What did seem easy about LinkedIn was the fact it seems to operate a lot like other platforms, consisting of many of the same mechanics. The one big difference was the public aspect of the LinkedIn profile. I never realized how LinkedIn is solely for marketing yourself to those that matter professionally.

I think the one mechanic of LinkedIn that absolutely needed to be explained was what the author humorously entitled the "Bacon Number." This system of first, second, and third levels of people and the systems of relationships would have been terrible to learn without any instruction of any kind, so my thanks to you, Jason.

Past that, his tips and tricks for the expansion of LinkedIn connections, will, I think, come in handy quite a bit as I build up myself on the platform the next few years. Asking seems ingenious but I feel like with most platforms, it may be unprofessional to ask or plug a Twitter handle, but it seems LinkedIn is the opposite, where self-promotion is happily accepted and met with eager connections and workplace advancements.
